light bleeding 1 week b4 period ..took pregnancy test

I have had light bleeding during a week before my period. my period is usually irregular and begins a week later than my previous menstrual period.
And right now I have light bleeding.. it is not spotty and this is the same time I got my period last month. As mentioned my period this month is suppose to be a week later than today because of its irregular cycle.

I took the test today and it was negative..
Should I wait for another week? is that accurate?
Can light bleeding be symptoms of anything else other than pregnancy?

I have had unprotected sex exactly 20 days or a little more.

I would suggest waiting and take another test as from what you have stated you could be pregnant. Sometimes your body will not pick up the HCG hormone for a while. If your period is irregular and is uncommonly light, wait a week and take another HPT.
