liver problems related to thyroid

Hello. I'm 37 year old female and I'm pretty worried about my husband’s health. You see, about a year ago he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a deficiency of normal thyroid hormones.
All this time he is drinking those hormones supplements and didn’t have any problems with it.
Beside this, he was has always drink a lot but he said that it isn’t anything serious. Just recently he contacted his doctor because of strong pains located in his liver and doctor determined that his liver is seriously damaged. I don’t know how this could be? Is this from alcohol or this liver problem could be related to his thyroid problem?

Hello. I understand why you are so worried and really would like to help you. You see, it could be very difficult to say is your husband’s liver problem related to his thyroid but I will tell you everything I know about it.
You see, husband suffer from these thyroid hormones deficiency and I believe there is strong correlation between thyroid gland and liver.
For example, various man-made chemical contaminants may induce liver cells to selectively clear T3 from the circulation at a faster rate than they clear T4. I don’t know could alcohol be the one of these man-made substances mentioned above.
The bottom line is that, whatever is the cause of his liver problems, he must stop drinking alcohol because it will just make his situation worse.
