|

My husband and I are thinking about tubual ligation for me. We are both 29 years old and have already 3 children. To be honest, we are still sexually active but we can’t afford another child. Can somebody tell me if there are any long term effects of this procedure. Thank you

Hi! I had tubal ligation performed. You must know for sure that you don’t want any more children. I think that reversal is possible but not all the time. I was told that there aren’t many long term complications after tubal ligation but I have been experiencing heavier periods. Other than this, there are only some side effects following surgery like reaction to anesthesia, or possible blood vessel injury during the surgery but this last one is like minimized if you choose a proper doctor.

| It might be too late now. But, don't have a tubal ligation done. Check out other methods. I am 26 with three children and i have had my tubes tied. I have had nothing but problems since. I have all the symptons of early menopause. You need to do some research on Post Tubal Syndrome. This will pretty much tell you all the information you are looking for about any long term problems. I wish I would have known about these things before I did it. Now, i feel like I am ruined inside and out. thanks for listening. |

| I am now 25 and had tubal ligation done 2 years ago and feel fine. I have had a regular normal period. I feel good about it. I am more sexually active and sex has become enjoying knowing I can't become pregnant. But be sure to research more about it if your not too sure of getting it done. |

| I am now pregnant with my 4th baby and my husband and I have been concidering a more "perminate" form of birth control, so I have been doing some research on my own about any possibul side effects that may occur, and I have been seeing alot of bad things that could go wrong including a type of "post Syndrome" for both tying my tubes as well as a vasectomy. Can anyone tell me what kind of chances I would really be facing in actually getting any of these side effects???? |

| Hi I am 32 yrs old after having my tubes tided for 7 yrs. I have had a reversal done. and immediately after my surgery I could not believe the difference in how I felt. My back pain was easing up I am not tired anymore. There are many side effects to having your tubes tied and if my doctor would of let me k nown they never would of been tied. I have experience both sides of the pic and to all woman if its not broke don't touch it, CONDOMS!! Use them instead. Just think about it. |

I had my tubes tied after my 4th son was born 12 years ago. Although it has been wonderful NOT to have to worry about contraceptives, I would NOT recommend it. I have more hormonal problems with the biggest problem being a lowering of my progesterone levels. I've gained weight, don't sleep as well, tired ALL THE TIME, I could go on because there are so many other symptoms. The only reason I had it done in the first place was because my husband couldn't have a vasectomy due to his family history of testicular cancer. So with that and the assurance of my doctor that there were no long term affects, I had the procedure done. Be informed, educate yourself and google tubal ligation effects and you will see the number of websites that talk about the long-term problems. I was relieved to see that it wasn't just me when I went through the various websites. I also noticed that we all had the exact side effects. Coincidence? I don't think so!! My advice is let the buyer beware.
Hope this helps! |
