|

i've been experiencing attacks for several years. they started after i quit smoking pot...(that was 7 years ago). i start freaking out about reality. i start screaming, or pacing and ripping the skin off my arms, tearing my hair out....i have an incredible urge to 'get out of my body'. i also experience full on de ja vu feelings constantly. i sometimes can't determine whether i am alive or dead. i also experience lucid dreams (have done all my life). sometimes i wake from these, and they are so real that i have trouble determining if i am awake or asleep.
i know this sounds incredibly fucked up.... i don't have any idea what is wrong with me, and there seems to be no apparent triggers to my attacks.....i don't believe it could be related to smoking pot, as i haven't smoked in years. these symptoms only feel real when i am having an attack...and it can strike anywhere. what in god's name is going on in my brain? can anyone help me? |

| I don't know if I can help you or not, but maybe if I tell you, your not alone you can feel a little better, I have expierenced anxiety for a year straight now.. I always feel that WEIRD de ja vu feeling constantly. ANd also that I am dreaming, like a dream like state or just plain weird feeling. I really feel like i am going insane!!!!!! I started zoneing out which is not like me at all and I just can't seem to concentrate! I was a heavy drinker since age 13 (I am 22) and the anxiety attacks I recently found out are most likely triggered by alcohol withdrawls. DO you drink excessively? Have you ever blacked out from alcohol? these may be triggers. I take xanax to relieve the intense panic attacks, the first time I took a xanax I experienced a HUGE weight lifted from my sholders... I was in tears because I finally felt NORMAL again!! the problem is im scared to take it daily because of the increase risk of dependency, but you may want to look in to it and ask your doctor. Because it is really the only thing that works for me. I hope some of this info may be helpful. Candi |
