Hi, I am probably quitting smoking mj for the most part (i'm not totally convinced yet)--- but, I smoked probably 3x a week for the past year (i know , not that much)... but it has really effected me a lot more the last few months, and my I became much slower, very poor memory, and just feel less engaged so I haven't smoked for about 2 weeks now.....
But my head still feels the same--- Like I am constantly aware that I am operating at a different level than I did a few months ago. My memory is still weaker, and there is a constant pressure in my head, not too bad, but it is constant--- I just wonder if this is ever going to go away--- it doesn't seem like it (and it's odd because I don't feel at all addicted, and I didn't smoke all that much--- Any ideas on what to do?)

I'm experiencin the same thing and I smoke every blue moon...I smoked a little on a friday and a saturday and I started feeling really weird a couple of days afterwards even now and It is the following Sunday. I was just telling my significant other that I don't feel like myself...my stomach feels nervous after i force some food down, which is very little. and my head just feels cloudy and all I want to do is sleep and when I do fall asleep I wake up 2 hours later. I feel exhausted from getting little sleepg on and off.

I've been smoking everyday for 13 years. Within the last 5 years I've been smoking only top notch bud at the same rate as the schwag I was smoking previously. Anyways, I quit 8 days ago and am experiencing the headaches as well. They dont seem to go away and my concentration level is horrible. Good news is, if you hang in there this does taper off, sometimes taking months. There was a time when I quit for 7 months within the 13 years of smoking. I thought I had ruined my brain because of the time it took to feel normal again, but in about 2 months I finally began to feel normal. Hang in there, it just takes time.

Ahhhh....MJ....

Definitely not for everybody. Consider this: some people have adverse reactions, sometimes severe ones, from injesting biologically-grown cannabis. It could be a head-ache, nausea, or many other things, but I know for a fact that even an experienced smoker can sometimes have a bad experience for seemingly no reason at all.

I'm definitely with you on the "slowness", poor memory, etc.
I have to ask: is that primarily due to MJ, or is it because you inadvertedly gave up some things (like time) in smoking MJ? People who keep their brain stimulated can retain their sharpness well into old age - 80's, 90's and so on. Of course, physical activity, diet, etc, all play a part. I know for a fact that when I get groggish, I either haven't slept enough, or I have probably created some deficiency in vitamins or minerals.

As for the pressure in your head...I would be surprised if that occurred constantly - even in weeks that you've decided not to smoke. I would definitely do some experiments with withdrawal and smoking to see what causes the pressure. Most likely it's blood vessels being more constricted or inflexible than normal, and blood travelling through them simply creates more pressure.

Now that could be serious. I've had severe headaches due to pounding in my head, likely caused by lack of oxygen or/and smoking more than I should have. I've also read that smoking pot is increases your chance of having a stroke - it makes sense to connect the headaches to the splitting headaches to strokes.

I don't see what would go wrong if a smoker adjusted their diet, exercise (physical and mental!) and so on to compensate for smoking pot. I've yet to do it on purpose, but that might be the solution to whatever problems it causes. For some individuals. Others are just cursed from birth and won't handle pot no matter what.

In conclusion, pot's great to get high...but once there are side effects you'll have to make a choice.

thc is fat soluable. when u smoke for the first time, unless u smoke a lot the first time, u don't really get the high feeling. this is because it is absorbed into fat cells before it reaches your brain in large quanities. this is also why thc can be traced in your urine for so long, (it is slowly coming out of your fat cells and entering the blood stream, to then be filtered out by your kidneys) all the head cloudieness and the strange feelings is just the thc still left in you. (sorry the answer is so long, I just wanted to explain all he mechanics.) it will go away soon after you are able to pass a drug test, and I say soon after because you CAN pass a drug test with a small amount of thc, there is a cut off amount allowed. I used to smoke on average anywhere from 3-10 blunts a day of very high quality weed, plus some bowl packs and such. even 2 months after quiting I was having panic attacks and actually feeling kind of buzzed, foggy, whatever you want to call it. but after about 3, 3 and a half months I was back to how I felt before it
