Hi I am 24 year old male and I am training football for several years. I have played for local team till last year and we were just playing for fun. This year I have assigned contract for 1st division club and many things have changed in approach to the training. Among other things after training or the game we have to go on massage. I would like to know why that is so important and would I skip it.

Hi, massage is very important thing for your muscles same as your general health. After training or game, your body is tensed and your muscles need to be relaxed. You have to get rid of waste which accumulate in your muscles and prepare yourself for new efforts. Massage may be the therapy and relaxation too. Also it improves your lymph drainage and shortens time of your muscles recovery.
