Hello. I am 27 year-old female and for the last two months I have been getting these heavy bleedings that are not always connected with my period. I mean they look like periods but don’t come when periods should come. I know this because I have regular periods. I am getting a little bit worried now because of the persistence of this condition> What could it indicate? Thank you for your help!

Well, this happened to me when I had spontaneous abortion. These were parts of endometrium linning that my uterus shed, because pregnancy didn’t happen. I suppose this is not your case, and I happen to know some other possible conditions that may casue this. However, I would advice you to get checked as soon as possible. Menometrorrhagia may happen as a consequence of hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, benign fibroid tumors in the uterus, and, rarely, cancer.
