Sad 50 y/o w/menopause and hate living turned into a horrid ugly monster, vaginal dryness, have no man, have gotten so ugly and fat, have enormous breasts which I want to literally cut off! there needs 2 b research on a cure 4 aging and menopause! this sucks 2 the highest degree - people cringe when they look at me and i scream when i look in the mirror; used to be so beautiful. wasted my life away sacrificing and being good and had bad husband. why women are so cursed is beyond me? are they doing any research 4 this horrible, traumatic time in a woman's life? is there any medication my doctor can give me? why do men age nicely? i have a very high sex drive, but know that i am so ugly i can't have a relationship and need companionship desperately; don't know what to do.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad about yourself. I often wonder how God can be so cruel to women. (Please, I do not want a discussion about Eve's sin and why women will be tortured the rest of their lives. My opinion to God is "GET OVER IT!")

I am sure there is a lot of research to help women cope with menopause. In the meantime, talk to your doctor about your feelings. Check to see if there are support groups in your area.

First of all God is not punishing you. It is part of a woman's life. You can change the way you look and feel by changing the way you think. If you keep a positive attitude about this and by all means do not put yourself down you will get through it. I am 50 yrs. old and am too going through menapause. My body is changing just like it did at puberty. I am excited about what lies on the other side of it. I too got down and cried about the way I looked. I looked bad because I allowed myself to give into it and wallow in self pity. It was then when I changed my way of thinking that I saw a difference in myself. I feel and look better. I am in no way saying it is all in your mind. Yes! You are going through a tough time just like millions of other women. Jesus suffered on the cross so that we may be forgiven of our sins and live in eternity. Who are we to complain about going through menapause that by the way doesn't last forever!
