I am 34 and had always had what I thought was a normal cycle. Recently I was late and went to the OB. PG test was negative, but I was diagnosed as hypothyroid. After 6 weeks without a period, I had light bleeding for 5 days, then it stopped and 1 week later I started bleeding again. This time a bit heavier. It has been ongoing for 10 days so far, some light some heavier. Is this just my hormones being not normal from the hypothyroidism and now the medication trying to get them back to normal. The ob said there was nothing else in the bloodwork and pap when I went back 3 weeks ago.
It's possible that your body is reacting to the medication. Going on or off medication can change your body in various ways.
This is something you may want to talk to your doctor about. Talk to the doctor who put you on the medication and see if this is normal or not. If it's not, you may need to be prescribed something else or a different dose.
