I know that back in 80s people smoked ice and I found out that is actually methamphetamine. I have heard some stories that the smoke was odorless and it leaved residues which were able to resmoked, and that its affects lasted for 12 hours. They described something like flashes which lasted on for a few minutes, but extremely pleasurable. Is there some research about abuse of methamphetamine? I am interested to hear more about it.
Here is something that I read in some research of methamphetamine. As you may already know methamphetamine is a psycho-stimulant, as is cocaine and amphetamine. It is even structurally similar to amphetamine but different from cocaine. All these drugs have similar behavioral and psychological effects but major difference how they affect nerve cells. The point is that methamphetamine like cocaine accumulates neurotransmitterdopamine and it produces similar feelings as euphoria. The difference is that cocaine is quickly removed from the body methamphetamine remains unchained inside, which means that is present longer in brain which ultimately leads to prolonged stimulant effect.
