methotrexate stopping for a time

I am going to have hemorroid surgery soon and must stop the methotrexate and prednisone for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after. 8 methotrexate per week and 5 mg. prednisone per day. Can I stop the methotrexate abrubtly? I know about the prednisone.
