miscarried after sex; could this happen again

my husband and i have a cat. we were two months pregnant when she had kittens, she moved them right beside our bed. i miscarried at 13 weeks and was told that the baby was not properly developed. people are telling me that that could be from the chemical in the cats pee. we are trying to get pregnant again. we no longer have the kittens but do we have to get rid of our cat? she doesn't have any shots, would that make a difference?
