| I miscarried at 5 weeks according to my doctor - I would have been 11 weeks along by now. I still haven't bled out and my doctor wants me to wait until my next cycle is to start - is this normal and will it cause infection? I feel nauseated and heartburn all the time but otherwise no symptoms of pregnancy. I am not sure if I should go back to doctor now or wait another week and a half. |

I WOULD not wait, and I have NEVER heard of a doc waiting so long, that can cause an infection.
Most docs I know or work with want to do a D&C ASAP, that way infection and complications are kept to a minimum. Retained tissue can poison you, by sending an infection in your system.
If I were you, I would request surgery, just for health reasons.. |

| I have a very close friend that found out she was pregnant. Not planned but happy...she went to MD on Tuesday and they had to do a pap smear and a few other things (not sure what) They scheduled her ultrasound for Thursday, which was yesterday. (Note: She has two other kids, one is about to be 11 and the other one just turned 9) During the ultrasound, they could not find the babies heartbeat. On Tuesday she was 9 weeks along and after the doctor checked her and did ultrasound, he said that the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. The doctor told her to come back on Tuesday and they would do another ultrasound and if they couldn't find the hearbeat, then she could have a D&C or carry until she miscarried herself. She had some bleeding yesterday but nothing major until this morning. She had to leave work and make an MD appt...I haven't heard from her yet. She had symptons of being pregnant and she was starting to show. The doctor had no explanation for the reason she was starting to show. Should she get the D&C or wait until her MD appt on Tuesday? She has been under A LOT of stress and I was thinking that maybe that could have been the reason for not hearing heartbeat but since the baby has stopped growing, I really don't know. I am very concerned about her...Thank You!! |
