But i had an eating disorder... i make myself throw up and now im scared cuz i havnt gotten my period. i wanted to know if anyone knows will it come back? im scared to go the doctor because my mom will find out and i dont want her to. i try everyday not to throw and im stopping because resently i threw up a lil blood, its so hard to stop. Does anyone know of anything i can do to help me stop!!!?? but i still need help is there anywhere i can go without having to have my mom there? i really dont want her to know because it would upset her too much.

hi. I am sorry you are dealing with this. I have an eating disorder as well, and going without a period is a common symptom of eating disorders. Your body does not trust that you will give it the nutrients it needs and keep them down, so it has shut down to only do what is necessary for survival, which is why you aren't having your period. Your period CAN come back, but you need to get help for the eating disorder first. Once you start eating regularly and not purging, your period should return. Remember though, it might take a little while because of the stress the eating disorder has put on your body. As far as getting help without your mom finding out, there may be some first steps you can take without her knowing, but ultimately you will want to see a private therapist, and she will probably have to find out for insurance reasons. :-\ There are some eating disorder clinics that offer free support groups though, you might try looking for one in your area. As scary as it is, the easier you start to deal with it, the easier it is to recover. Trust me, you don't want to be doing this for the rest of your life!!!!!! Good luck!!!!
