I need some information for my little girl. She is suffering from miyoshi myopathy, so the doctors say. The symptoms occurred few months ago. She has muscle weakness and they say it is progressive. Can you help me to understand what this is? How the person can get this disorder? Please help me.
It is muscle disorder caused by genetic mutations. We can say that it is alterations in one of the genes that causes a particular type of limb-girdle muscular dystrophy designated LGMD2B. It can produce miyoshi myopathy also. Person could get this disorder in two ways. It can be by inheritance from the parents or trough the new mutation that is not inherited.
