High percent of patients that suffer pain caused by cancer need to change patches every 48 hours. When therapy is palliative the most important is to relieve patient from pain. Morphine is the most powerful analgesic and I think that the dose can not be too high for the patient that suffers pain. At the other side, 72hours patches are available with different doses of morphine; they are not all the same. It can be bad because of morphine’s side effects like constipation and depression of breathing center. Morphine’s analgesic effect is bless for patients with sarcoidosis.
