mountain bike-which manufacturer to turn to?

Hi, my mountain bike is ready to retire as I am riding him for more than 7 years. I going to give it to my brother and I intend to buy new one. And here is my problem, I don't know which manufacturer to choose. I didn't have such problem with my previous bike as my father bought it to me for my birthday but now I have big dilemma.

Hi, first of all it depends of amount of money which you intend to spend. If it some bigger sum of money I would suggest you to look over "Kona" bikes in US or "Cannondale Bicycle Corporation", if you are based in UK than "Orange" may be interested gor you situated in Hallifax.
Also there is "Giant Manufacturing" from Taiwan.
Anyway no matter which company you choose you will not make a mistake. It is just question what are you looking for and what price are you willing to pay.
