I would keep tabs with your pediatrician when you visit him for your baby's timely checkups/immunizations. There will come a time for a possible surgery just to open the vaginal opening maybe present beneath the closed skin area. I was born with the same condition and I have grown to have many children. When the menstrual period time age approaches, I would definitely check at that time because the body should be leaving blood inside somewhere. You wouldn't want that to acculmulate inside. Your pediatrician will give you the best advice and I would be faithful in keeping your gynecology appointments when that age arrives. Keep ahead of it.

Definitely keep an eye on that. I am 16 years old now, and just days after my 13th birthday I was woken up by a severe stomach ache. It was literally a non-stop cramping, truly horrible stomach ache that would not go away regardless of what position I sat or laid in. I could hardly sit up because of the discomfort. My mom figured I was going to start my period and that I was having a case of bad cramps. She called the gyno and he said to give me excedrin because that would help the pain, and thin my blood which induces a period. I was taking excedrin at any time I was allowed and just eating two crackers before each dose because I couldn't stomach any food. My mom was also told to give me laxative as the doctor thought I may be constipated if my period was approaching. After nine days of this and my stomach beginning to bloat far more than usual, we ran out of excedrin and I literally was flailing around and crying and yelling because the pain had gotten so severe, so my mom decided to take me to the ER. They were unsure of what would cause this pain and gave me pain medication. Amazingly, an ER doctor said she had once seen that a girls hymen had been unable to break, causing a giant backup of menstrual flow and took a peak. She was right on the money, luckily just before they were about to take me for a scan of my stomache. A doctor came in from Lansing right away and they had to prep an OR for surgery within the next hour because if we waited too long, my blood could have gone toxic. They opened the hymen surgically and said that I had been having a period for two years that had been unable to release and finally the blood backed up so much(over 500cc) that it bloated my stomach and caused severe pain. I lost 9 pounds solely from the blood being emptied. The surgery after however, was nothing but relieving. Dissolvable stitches were used, I experienced no pain(at least not compared to the pain prior to the surgery) and I've had a regular period ever since. Please keep an eye on your daughter as that was an extremely traumatizing experience for me. Hope this helped a bit!
