| I'm not sure what to do. My friend moved to another country a few years ago, and since then we have chatted via msn, and telephone. One of our friends told me tonight that my friend has started cutting. I'm really sad and worried about her. She is going through a lot right now, and I know she needs help. But there is nothing I can really do besides try to talk her into getting help. But she won't, because she is scared of her parents finding out, and she doesn't want to depend on anti-depressants for the rest of her life. She says that cutting makes her feel much better, and her suicidal feelings go away after she does. But I know she needs help...her friends are suspicious because they have seen the cuts, and they have suspicians that she is self harming. But she comes up with the excuse that a friend's cat scratched her, when she pet it. Her brother asked her about it, she told him that story. He didn't even give her a look, and said ok. I'm not sure what her parent's phone number is, so I can't call them and tell them what is going on. I'm not sure what to do...I feel like I am failing her because I can't do anything, living in another country. If you have any advice, please feel free to share. Thank you. |
