my husband has a left testicle that is VERY painful and swollen . he said it felt like his testicle has split into. what could be his diagnosis?

Get to a doctor.
Only an exam by an experienced physician or urologist can make a diagnois.
If he's experiening pain, go immediately. Consider an emergency room if he is in great pain.
