Hello there! Maybe you should see a pediatrician and measure your son’s iron levels.
Iron is very important for producing hemoglobin that carries the oxygen throughout the body. When a child’s hands are cold, it means there aren’t enough red blood cells to carry the heat to the feet, hands, mouth, etc.
This is why it is important for every child to have daily naps, so they can get enough red blood cells.
If your child does have low levels of iron, you should make sure he gets enough, but make sure he gets it from food and not iron pills. You could be giving him vitamin C to better absorb the iron from red meet, spinach, raisins, etc.
You should avoid iron pills as they can make children nauseous, and lead to overgrowth of fungus and bacteria if taken too much.
Iron deficiency may lead to cognitive impairment in children.
