Hello, I am 43 years old and I would like to ask you something about my health condition. I am suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and I take ibuprofen for that, at the moment. But, I also have some heartburn problems and I intend to use Mylanta for that. Will there be any interactions between the drugs?
Well, there could be some very mild interaction, because H2 antagonists might change the disposition of ibuprofen, which may result with changed plasma concentrations. The important thing is, these changes are statistically very rare and their clinical significance is not big at all. So, if you do not find any other medication, I think it is moderately safe for you to use both meds at the same time.
