what are the symtoms of my new born nephew. him mother was on pills and now i'm very scared..he's one week old today.

I am Paramedic. I have seen this many times the child will shake and cry uncontrollable and the only thing that you can really do to help is to hold the child and talk in a low comforting tone and rocking but the withdraws will last about 2 weeks beffor they will subside hang in there
