My friend is having Nevus of Ota, non-vascular birthmark. I was wonder can she clear this birthmark? She told me that there is a treatment but she can’t afford. I am so sorry; I know that she is unhappy because of it.

Nevus of Ota is a congenital non vascular pigment lesion. In Nevus of Ota birthmark, there is an overproduction of melanocytes under the skin that carry a dark pigment. These birthmarks are highly responsive to laser treatment. The Ruby laser is used for treatment and the laser light is selectively absorbed by these colored cells. It breaks up the cells into small fragments that the body's immune system can wash away. The cost of treating an extensive birthmark can be $10,000 or more.
