I have a favor of you to ask. My wife and I are having some small difficulties with our child – nine year old still sleeping with mother. We cannot just forbid him from our bed, but we know that he must have passed this phase a long time ago. Well, it would appear differently, so I am asking for some advice.
You are right. Children usually finish this phase couple of years earlier, so there must be something wrong here. Perhaps he is seeking more attention from some reason. You have to watch his daily behavior and see if there are any changes. Perhaps something happened at school so he seeks protection, even at night. There is also a slight possibility that these are the first symptoms of future anxiety that he might develop. I would recommend that you seek a professional help.
