numbness in arms, anxiety any relation to kidney stones

My friend recently had a procedure to remove kidney stones and still has a stint/tube. The stint/tube has been in his body for about 2 months already and the appointment to have it removed is not until next month. He is recently describing feelings of depression, anxiety and constant numbness in his left arm. Is this in any way related to the procedure that was done or could there be an infection from the tube? I am very concerned for his health and he has not contacted the doctor. Is it possible there is a relation to the kidney problem or is this a separate issue all together? Thank you.
