If you start on day 1 or 2 of bleeding you're covered, but any other time in the month, you need to use condoms or something for 1 week.
When you remove the ring for bleeding, and you replace it 7 days later you're ok too because it takes 7 days to ovulate while using hormonal contraceptives like this. ( so it's back in on time, no troubles. )
