on and off throat infection since sept to March (this month) could it be STD.?

It started in September with a horrible cough with flem in my lungs. i took antibiotics and that didn't help. it was so bad that my ribs would hurt and i had to quit gymnastics! =[ i was taking puffers but that didn't seem to help. after about 3 months it went away. and then 2 months it came back, and during these times my throat would get so sore that i wouldn't eat anything for two days and i couldn't go to sleep. i went to a walk in clinic and took some pills and it was already starting to go away so i dont know if the pills really helped. the back of my throat was full of puss and even after my throat felt better, you could sortof still see the puss. this has happened 3 times where it would come and go away, and then come back. What ever i have the doctors dont know what it is and i haven't gotten rid of it. Also, i have had a lot of discharge as a kid even befor i started my period. it did have a smell and i went to a doctor when i was little and my mom knew about it. the doctor checked for yeast infection and said i was fine. I still have a lot of discharge and it is very embarresing and i don't know what to do!?
