Hello! I have heard that the operation is only way for getting rid of kidney stone. So, I am considering it now. Before I schedule surgery I want to hear your opinion about this. I have to admit that I do not feel quite comfortable. I hope that you will have some nice advice for me and that you will help me. Thank you very much!

Hello! Well, if I were you, my choice would not be a surgery. I am telling you this because nowadays there are many successful methods as like usage of shockwaves or lasers are. If you are planning to go to surgery, I hope that you know that you will be in total anesthetic. Anyway, the choice is yours.

Smaller stones can be broken up by sound waves & the bits passed via the bladder. Larger stones may need surgical removal, which is a pretty major operation. I've just had this done through keyhole surgery in my back under general anaesthetic & was in hospital 5 nights. The advantage is that the stone is removed all in one go.
