My friend was telling me the other day about this new contraceptive called ovcon35 that is spearmint-flavored that can be chewed and swallowed. Is there anybody who has been on these pills? How do they differ from other birth control pills? Thanx heaps

Hi! Ovcon 35 has been approved back in November 2003. Ovcon 35 doesn’t differ much from the other birth control pills. It contains both progestin and estrogen that are used in other products as well. Ovcon 35 is available only in a 28-day regimen. The package contains 21 tablets with norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol followed by seven reminder green tablets that are inactive to complete a 4-week-cycle. The rules that are applied for other bc’s apply here as well. In order to be effective, it must be used as directed and there is a risk of blood clots, heart attack, and stroke. Women who smoke have larger chances of developing cardiovascular side effects.
