I am so desperate that it seems my whole world does not exist any more. I have just delivered a baby into this world and I know that I am supposed to be the happiest person but I am not. I am so afraid that something might happen to my little girl that I even hesitate from taking her in arms, I fear that I will drop her or crush her tiny head. I need to know the facts of overcoming postpartum depression.

Overcoming postpartum depression is something that usually 15 to 25 percent of mothers experience. Depression is only one symptom; there are hallucinations, delusions that often have baby in focus (fear of baby's death for example). Be aware that you must start with some therapy since there is possibility of you hurting yourself or even the baby, if the depression continues. Please, talk to your doctor.
