Hello! I have been suffering from hemorrhoids for quite some time and what ever I did, did not help me get rid of this misery. I have decided to go for the surgery and I was thinking of taking oxycontin for the post op pain! Is there anybody who has used this drug?

I don’t know much about hemorrhoids but I do know bunch of oxycontin and would not recommend it at all. It is habit forming and a very strong pain killer. Besides, it causes so many severe side effects and I am sure this drug won’t do you any good. Besides, it needs to be prescribed by a doc.

I have found that this drug does not work well for me and my husband who just had hemorrhoidectomy. It subsides the a bit, but keeps him awake. As it did me for my surgeries - Mastectomy and many that followed. I have had a difficult time finding any pain medication that does work. But, I do know that this one has a challenging effect on your sleep.

Yeah but clear all this with your doc. Its a good drug and CAN be habit forming if taken for periods of ranging from 2weeks or more but whoever this person is who things taking it once will lead to dependence is incorrect.
