pain & spotting after total hysterectomy

I just recently went to my doctor because i was having pain aa well as spotting. I found out after my examination that I had an ulcer-location woudl be where my uterus used to be located. She removed the most of the ulcer and did a biopsy however she informed me that I might have to come back due that she could not remove all of it-she informed me that it was much deeper & bigger than she had anticipated. She said that she would know what course of action to take after my biopsy came back. Does this sound right? And how could I have gotten an ulcer?
In Sept. I under went a total hysterectomy. My doctor informed me that my surgery took longer than normal due to complications with existing adhesions. She said she removed several.
