| Hi, I am a 25 year old woman, and are having problems with my stomach area. It started with pain in my right side about 2 months ago, 2 weeks ago it got worse, and now I have been off work for nearly 3 weeks. The pain is also in my right lower pelvic area, sometimes radiating over to the left, but mainly on the right. I have great urgancy with my bladder, and am urinating somewhere between 15-20 times a day (small amounts) and feel pressure on my bladder. yesterday I was shopping, and I all of a sudden started getting sharp pains in my right side, and lower right pelvic area, it doubled me over, I was in alot of pain. It only lasted 2 hours, then the sharp pain went and it went back to a cramping, like aching pain, wich was verypainful aswell. Today I got my period, and I was in a terribal state. The pain was agonising, cramping, period pain, with the same right hand side pain. my doctor was not on yesterday, I went in for a papsmear, and saw another doctor, who prescribed me digesic for the pain, but they make me feel nausiated. I have also had a ultra sound and they also put a camera inside to have a look inside at the ovaries. I rang my doctor, but the results are not back yet. What if they cant find anything? what should I do next? |

The symptoms you described remind me of my problem with cysts on ovaries. I start experiencing a lot of pain when I am about to get my period. The pain is unbearable and it sometimes radiates to my thighs. I don’t have the symptoms all the time but when I do, they are awful.
Here are some of the symptoms ovarian cysts can cause: pressure, fullness, or pain in the abdomen, dull ache in the lower back and thighs, problems passing urine completely, pain during sexual intercourse, painful menstrual periods and abnormal bleeding, nausea or vomiting and breast tenderness.
My cysts don’t interfere with my cycle but I hear many women experience change in their menstrual cycle, they either become irregular or start having spotting between periods, which can be quite frustrating.
What did an ultrasound show? Cysts are usually seen with an ultrasound. It can actually show how the cyst is shaped; its size and location; and whether it’s fluid-filled, solid, or mixed.
If they don’t find anything, I am sure they will point you to another kind of doctor. If they don’t, you should ask them. |

| Hey, another relation to the cyst thing is that sounds like Endometriosis! It can cause all of those symptoms and more.....it is best to get it checked and taken care of especially when it causes you to miss work as whatever this may be it must be treated! When you see your G.P. make sure you tell them EVERY symptom that has happened, even if it was a headache or a dizzy spell as it can all be related. But honestly, I suffer from Endo and I sometimes have to get cysts removed (sometimes these cysts are referred to fibroids) Seriously do some research on the condition as sometimes in order to get the correct treatment we need to do some research ourselves especially when the doctor can't seem to figure it out. (remember, they too are only human, so sometimes we have to help them along too!) Endo can cause problems at anytime, sharp pains, dull pains, fatigue and so much more! It is the kind of condition that if left untreated it can leave a woman infertile or put her into early menopause.... |
