| My 14 1/2 year old daughter was just diagnosed with mono. She has had a painful throat for 6+ days now.... tonsils with white patches, red and inflammed. The pain is unbearable for her. How long does the sore throat usually last for and what can we do to relieve the pain? We have given her jello, shakes, slurpees, cold drinks, warm beverages, popsicles, etc. Her doctor told her to take 600 mgs. of ibuprofen every 6 hours, but it all still does not seem to help. What else should we do to help her? |
