I have just found the same thing, a small pea sized lump under the skin on the outer part of my labia minora. It feels like a huge spot that's not ready yet and it hurts a lot! It's really gross.

I will have warm baths and use hot flannels and try to ease it out over the next few days!

I usually trim my pubic hair regularly, but I haven't done so for 2-3 months and I believe that my long pubic hair might have been one of the factors which contributed to this thing appearing! Sweat occurs more and also lingers more when there's a lot of hair down there. Time for a trim methinks!

It may be a "barothlyn gland cyst"-completely harmless , many woman can get them, and they have nothing to do with an STD.
Go the the ob/gyn and they will lance it. It is not painful at all and you will feel much better after it is drained. Do not be embarrased, it can happpen to anyone.... and the Dr. will not make you feel akward. I would not lance it or pop it yourself- go to the Dr...always get a professional opinion... Hope that helps!

oh thank goodness i looked on here everyones comments ae so helpful. i literally just noticed this red bump on the left side of my vagina, its really swollen and quite sore and is like a whitehead. me being me at 17 got really scared and things start whizzing round in ya head.

i really dont want to pop it myself incase it makes it worse and i cant go to the docs about these sorts of things, do you think if i have hot baths and dab it with really hot water it will calm down?
i will be very grateful for any comments.

I think that sometimes it can just be a bacterial infection, especially if you are not sexually active. I sometimes get a blister sometime around of after my period and it usually goes away by itself in a few days. What i would say is, clean it everyday, and if it doesnt go away in a few days or within a week, it's best to see a doctor to check it out.

I regularly get the 'pea sized' lump in my right outer labia. It has 95% of the time been an infected hair. The other times it was a cyst, once larger than a golf ball! A round of Keflex (cephalaxen) and/or lancing clears it up. It is best to have a doctor or PA lance it as doing it yourself can cause more infection.

Thank you SOOO much for your help! Other websites were talking about herpes (which is not the only thing it could have been but they were making it seem that way and scaring people) and if they did say what it was they weren't telling how to fix it without going to a doctor. This thread has been such a big help. Thank you.

thanks for posting this. i had some itching/burning and pain and i thought it was a yeast infection. after trying the typical cream i noticed it was just a specific spot that was really painful. on careful inspection i noticed it was this tiny pimple looking thing on my inner labia, kind of amazing how much it hurt for something so small. i know i don't have herpes because i've been tested very recently. as soon as i popped it, the pain was gone. it looked like it might have been a very weird rogue ingrown hair. yuck. hope that doesn't happen again.
