I was really sick....neuromuscular weakness (felt like rubbery legs when I moved around), fatigue, muscle aches and pains. Weeks after the surgery I was doing pretty good. Not 100% but maybe 80%. This lasted 6 months. The last ten days, the neuromuscular weakness has been plaguing me badly. ........so, it seems from what I'm reading, not all people have such a great recovery as is posted on Dr. Norman's website. Those people must be the lucky ones.
I too am waiting to heal! Anyone else out there waiting to heal??? |

| Kodger99 wrote: | | My surgery was a double adenoma. Dr. Norman said the remaining 2 glands were ok. Although, a month later I recieved the pathologist report that said a 3rd gland was "slightly enlarged". Now I'm wondering about this. What should I be taking as far as calcium mg per day? What about magnesium? Any other supplements? |
When is the last time you had lab work done? I don't understand the path report. Did you contact the dr's office about this? I would. My calcium is 400 IU of VIT D and 630mg of calcium. I am sure you should be taking some calcium. I don't know about magnesium. |

| You know I never ask about post surgery. I had read all the good reports people had posted on his web site. I was to take calcium and mutiple vitamins. I had my labs at 5 weeks as instructed and am still awaiting the results. If calcium is normal i guess I am cured. I sure hope so as i just have the one parathyroid gland left. They only gave me 80% that all my symptoms would go away. Considering the shape I had been in that sounded wonderful to me. I still have few aches and pain, but not the intense bone pain I had before surgery. I am concerned about your muscle weakness. Any chance you are on the med Lipitor or some drug like that. That is what happen to me when i took the drug. It was devastating. I thought I was going to die. I could not walk. depressed. I would certainly look at my meds. How high is your calcium? Was you calcium normal until recently? What does the GP say? |
