partial hearing loss in children

Hi everyone. I have heard many things about hearing loss in children. Because I am pregnant I wanted to know something about ways it can affect my baby. Can genetic factor cause partial hearing loss or just exposure to noise or injury? I am asking this because I have several family members with partial hearing loss.
