partial thyroid ectomey

I had a partial thyroid ectomey to remove suspicious lumps with cells. My surgeon said I wouldn't have any side effects at all, but I've changed. Mostly my moods - very irritable, almost violent. I saw my doc who tested me and said I was in normal range. My thyroid level was more than 2X what it was prior to surgery. He didn't seem to notice.

Anybody else had a partial thyroid ectomey and side effects?
I'm currently making a point to keep my levels checked. My grocery store has a clinic that does it for $66. I'll see soon if it's back to its original level.
