What antibiotics are recommended to use in treatment of periapical absess?
I had dental caries that was untreated. I’ve noticed gingival bleeding and heat sensitivity. My tooth is tender and mobile. Please tell me what are antibiotics I should use?
Amoxicillin 500mg four times a day for 8-10 days is recommended. Periapical abscess means that tooth infection has spread on surrounding tissue. It can not be healed spontaneously. Cefalosporines are also indicated, 3rd generation that has wide spectrum of antimicrobial action.
