I am no doctor, but I recommend going back on birth control, even if you are not having sex. It helps keep your period regular and can make you feel a lot better physically.

Also note that as stress levels increase it can cause a dely or unexpected period. If you have been ill this can also have an effect on your menstral cycle. Try to relax a little more, possibly work out for I know this helps me a lot when i am feeling overwhelmed. Eating healthy is also a great way I find to keep me feeling my best and keeps my periods on scheduale. Drink plenty of water.

If you are still concerned I would say go visit a doctor. Couldn't hurt right?
