period or implantation spotting?

I am a 27 yr old woman and I am on birth control and I some how missed 3 days of taking my birth control and I was late for my period I started back on my birth control but I had my period but for only one maybe one in a half days what does this mean could I be pregnant and it was implantation spotting and should I stop taking my birth control?
