period very light spotting!

When i normally start my period its always very strong and i have to change my pad every3-4 hours but this time i started 3 days sooner than i normally do and i was only spotting, you wouldnt have even known i was on it except when i wiped i seen very light pink, never red. Im real moody yelling crying the whole 9. i sleep alot and wake up with head aches. i took a preg test today but it came out neg. can i still be preggers or is it something else?? Confused
