Hello, folks. My friends’ kid has been recently diagnosed peripheral neuropathy. As far as I know, this condition is more common for adults. I know some people suffering from diabetes that have neuropathy. Is it possible for this disease to appear with kids? I would really appreciate your opinions. Thanks in advance.
Hello, there. Peripheral neuropathy can appear in children. Usually, when neuropathy appears this early, a metabolic or genetic disorder is suspected. Those are diseases like: mucolipidosis, mucopolysaccharidosis or hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsy. These are serious conditions. They require a serious analysis by pediatricians. It will be better done in larger clinical centers. I hope your friends’ kid will get a proper care. I don’t know many details. You should talk to a pediatrician for more details. Bye!
