persistant Itchy feeling in throat

I have been having an itchy feeling in my throat and the sides of my tounge have been sore. I dont have any other symtoms. I started taking new vitamins and drinking diet instead of regular soda around the same time it started. Could this irritation be caused by the changes or just an onset of a cold?
