Hello! I think I have a problem. Whenever I watch Tv, read something or study I keep picking my chewing gum. Hello there. As far as I know Trichotillomania is an impulse disorder that causes people to pull out the hair from their scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows, or other parts of the body, resulting in noticeable bald patches. Now, even though the thing you are doing resembles what the trich sufferers do, I don’t know if picking chewing gum would be characterized as Trichotillomania. It would be best if you talked to a psychologist at your school first, and see what s/he could tell you about what you are doing, and you can take it from there. The psychologist can then direct you to another doctor if he feels it may be necessary.
