I was wondering if Lhermitte’s sign is only a multiple sclerosis symptom? I‘ve been having a vibration feeling only when I flex my neck forward then feeling shots down my back tracking into my arms and legs. I am having this sensation for weeks now. But when I talked to some friends they told me that can be reaction from pinched nerve. Can you tell me more about Lhermitte’s sign? Thanks.

Lhermitte’s sign is an electric shock like sensation that radiates down the spine and occasionally transmitted into the limbs during neck flexion. It is most seen in MS (multiple sclerosis) but it can also occur with spondylosis or injury of cervical spinal cord. So, if you suspect on pinched nerve also you should check that. MRI is very useful for determination in these cases.
