Hi,
I am desperate for your advice. What is the possibility of me getting pregnant after I have inserted spermicide in me, my boyfriend ejaculated in the condom (during sex), and after he was done, he put his penis in me without the condom for about 30 seconds. From any post leakage would the spermicide have killed any sperm on contact? I was on my 13th day after my period, and was ovulating. |

It depends on several factors if the spermicide worked or not. When did you put it in? Spermicides are supposed to be put inside about 15 minutes before intercourse but you also have to make sure you put it correctly. It actually depends what you used, some work right away but suppositories must be placed earlier.
To do the work, i.e. to kill the sperm before it enters the uterus, spermicide must be placed deep into vagina to reach and touch the cervix. You shouldn’t wash them out 6 hours after sex.
Spermicides are less effective if you are taking any other form of medication.
Knowing, some of these facts, you may decide what your chances are. If you are not certain and it’s been less than 72 hours after your intercourse, you may decide to use the morning after pill.
I think that 30 sec is enough for the sperm to enter. |
