post inguinal hernia surgery lifting

I had open inguinal hernia surgery 17 days ago and waas instructed by my doctor not to lift more than 10 lbs for 6 weeks. I was at the store yesterday and without thinking carried about 35 lbs of groceries. I feel a slight pulling on the left side of my scrotum today. Could I have messed something up by doing this?

You could have. If there is no pain or if the pain is not excessive and it goes away, you will probably be alright.
