I am 47 years old, female. I am considering breast reduction. I would like to know how long does post op period is and how does recovery like? Thank you in advance.

Well, I believe that most breast reductions are done as outpatient surgeries which mean you will go home after you wake up from the anesthesia. But sometimes they must stay for a one or two days in the hospital. In post op period you would be wrapped in elastic bandages or a surgical bra over gauze and a small tube may be inserted in each breast to allow blood and fluids to drain for the first few days. Pain medications and antibiotics are given because you will experience some pain.
